Pat Boland is an Australian veterinarian. Having worked as a government veterinary officer in Malawi for several years during the early 1990s, he decided in retirement to return as a volunteer. He first worked for the Small Scale Livestock and Livelihoods Program (SSLLP) before exploring the idea of starting a new local organisation dedicated to village poultry. He is now Director of the RPC.

Luka Tumbwe is a poultry expert now retired after a long career with the Malawi government. His experience with poultry in Malawi is vast with a particular emphasis on the small scale sector. Luka is Technical Adviser to RPC and acts as a consultant to like minded institutions. He is a valued team member of the Rural Poultry Centre.
